What is tone?
Tone in an artistic context refers to light and dark values used to render a realistic object, or to create an abstract composition. When using pastel, an artist may often use a colored paper support, using areas of pigment to define lights and dark, while leaving bare support to show through as the mid tone.
Kia ora Richard, I really like that you have spent time drafting this piece as carefully as you can. It would be great to see you having a go at applying some tōne at some point too though. Thank you for posting your work up.
